FAQS
Neurotoxin
-
Tox (Botulinum Toxin) refers to neuromodulator treatments: Jeuveau, Dysport, Xeomin, Botox.
-
Botulinum Toxin blocks the release of a chemical that allows muscles to contract. This leads to the relaxation of those muscles and the smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles. It is a minimally invasive treatment with no downtime for patients!
-
Full results typically kick in between 1-2 weeks.
-
Neurotoxin generally lasts 3-4 months depending on the patient's specific anatomy and lifestyle. Therefore, it is recommended to get injected quarterly to maintain desired effects.
-
Mild pain, swelling, bruising at injection side, or headaches can occur after treatment.
-
Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a neurologic muscle-related condition, or who have a known allergy to botulinum toxin.
-
Avoid blood-thinning medications or supplements (ex: aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil) for 1 week prior to your appointment to reduce the risk of bruising. If you are PRESCRIBED a blood-thinning medication please continue.
Refrain from alcohol consumption for 24 hours prior to treatment.
You take arnica tablets beginning 2-3 days prior to your appt to help minimize bruising.
Inform your provider about any recent surgeries, medications, or medical conditions.
-

No strenuous exercise for 24 hours.
Keep your head elevated and avoid lying down flat for 4 hours.
Avoiding rubbing or massaging the treated area for 2 weeks after treatment.
microneedling
-
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a device (SkinPen) with fine needles to create thousands of tiny punctures (micro-injuries) in the skin. This process stimulates the body’s natural healing response, promoting collagen and elastin production, which can improve skin texture and appearance.
-
Microneedling has many wonderful benefits including improving skin texture and tone, reduction of fine lines and wrinkles, diminish appearance of acne scars and stretch marks, enhanced skin elasticity, as well as help improve absorption of skincare products.
-
Initial improvements can often be seen within a few weeks with more noticeable improvements developing after 3 months, as collagen production continues to increase over time.
-
Many people benefit from a series of 3 treatments spaced 3-6 weeks apart but the number of sessions required depends on the individual's specific skin concerns. We can create a personalized treatment plan based on your specific needs!
-
Common side effects include redness, swelling, mild discomfort, and light peeling or flaking.
-
Microneedling is generally suitable for most skin types and tones. It can be effective for treating a variety of skin concerns, including fine lines, acne scars, and overall skin texture.
-
Patients with active skin infections, severe acne, or certain skin conditions.
-
Avoid blood-thinning medications or supplements (ex: aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil) for 1 week prior to your appointment to reduce the risk of bruising. If you are PRESCRIBED a blood-thinning medication please continue, but notify your MADE Medical Provider.

chemical peel
-
A chemical peel is a procedure that applies a chemical solution to the skin to deeply penetrate, exfoliate and remove the damaged outer layer of skin.
-
This process improves the overall appearance and texture of the skin by targeting fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, acne scars, and overall skin dullness
-
Common side effects include redness and swelling, peeling or flaking of the skin, mild discomfort or itching, temporary darkening or lightening of the skin.
-
You will notice changes in skin within about 1-2 weeks after your chemical peel. Depending on chemical peel strength you can expect skin shedding for 7-14 days post peel.
-
You might experience a tingling or burning sensation as the solution is applied and directly after the peel your skin may appear red and feel sensitive, similar to a mild sunburn. Peeling will typically begin after a few days. Plan to stay out of the sun and wear limited makeup as your skin heals from your chemical peel, revealing a brighter, smoother complexion.
-
Yes! Chemical peels are categorized based on their depth of penetration into the skin.
Superficial Peels: Use mild acids (e.g., alpha hydroxy acid) to exfoliate the outer layer of skin. They address minor skin issues like mild acne or dullness.
Medium Peels: Use stronger acids (e.g., trichloroacetic acid) to penetrate deeper into the skin. They target issues such as moderate acne scars, uneven skin tone, and fine lines.
Deep Peels: Use potent acids (e.g., phenol) to reach the deeper layers of skin. They treat more severe skin problems, including deep wrinkles and significant sun damage, but require longer recovery time.
